When it comes to user experience, most retailers want to exceed shopper expectations before, during and after the sale. Costly or slow delivery speeds, however, can put a damper on the entire customer journey.
As one of the biggest challenges that ecommerce sites face, retailers are finding ways to improve their back-end fulfillment processes and Shippo is fast becoming that solution. More than 10,000 merchants are now actively using the company's API to ship millions of packages every month. The momentum is continuing in the form of a $7 million Series A funding round announced today, led by Union Square Ventures (USV) with participation from SoftTech VC and Version One Ventures and other Seed investors.
Shippo's API can be integrated with shopping carts (e.g., Shopify, BigCommerce, Magento and WooCommerce), website builders (e.g., GoDaddy, Weebly) and marketplaces (Etsy) to help the smallest of merchants to the largest of ones compare shipping rates, create shipping labels, verify addresses and track parcels.
"It's a great benefit to be able to offer Shippo as a tightly integrated part of the Weebly platform, saving our users time, money, and frustration," said Will Ranish of Weebly. "The integration has saved our merchants hours a day running their small business - to us, that's a success."
