The latest version of MySQL (5.7.2) has been released by Oracle, and the popular open source database features numerous enhancements to improve performance, scalability and manageability.

The MySQL Community Edition 5.7.2 DMR, which is available for download in the MySQL Developer Zone, delivers faster connectivity, higher transaction throughput, increased replication speed, memory instrumentation and other enhancements to enable higher performance and improved manageability. Oracle is also providing early access to features under development for community testing and feedback including "mysqlfabric" for scale out through sharding, and multi-source replication.
