Companies listed in The Fortune 500 aren't always innovators when it comes to design, so analyzing how those brands are currently designing their digital assets helps understand the broader prevalence of certain trends. HTML5 provides a good example.
A new infographic from digital agency Incore reveals that among Fortune 500 companies, 30.6 percent are using HTML5 on their corporate websites.
What's more, the 153 companies that used HTML5 on those digital properties in 2012 generated more profits than the 161 companies using XHTML 1.0 Transitional (which, consequently, is still the most popular with 32.2 percent use).
