Lucid Software, which makes cloud-based applications including diagramming app LucidChart and digital publishing tool LucidPress, announced it has raised $5 million in funding from Kickstart Seed Fund, Grayhawk Capital, and others.
The funding round is the first for Lucid since its $1 million seed investment from including Google Ventures and 500 Startups in 2011.
"With the continued popularity of Lucidchart and the momentum we're gaining with Lucidpress, now is the moment to dramatically scale our business and customer base," says Karl Sun, CEO, Lucid Software. "Today's workforce is moving away from enterprise monopolies to embrace a cloud-based 'bring your own app' world. We'll use this funding to continue to hone in on the value of our tools and get them in the hands of more people."
Lucidchart is one of the most popular productivity apps in the Chrome Web Store and Google Apps Marketplace, serving more than 2 million users in over 110 countries according to the company.
