Microsoft has announced Minecraft: Education Edition, a new version of Minecraft customized for schools.
Don't expect any dramatic differences in the version. There are, however, some new features geared toward ease of use that are worthy of note.
The new Education Education version of Minecraft, for example, has improved mapping features, offers teachers the ability to lock in certain resources, and added an in-game camera and scrapbook to handle screenshots for cataloging where users have been.
Microsoft is also launching a website where educators can submit Minecraft worlds and lesson plans to go along with them.
