Pinterest Gets GIF-fy

Pinterest is continuing to roll out the updates, with the newest one being support from the social network for GIFs.

There are already tens of millions of GIF Pins on Pinterest and a million people a day see at least one GIF on the social network, according to the company's blog post. It is important to note, however, that GIFs are currently only supported on the traditional Web, but Pinterest hopes to bring the functionality to mobile devices soon.

"The well-timed GIF may be the greatest thing to have happened to the internet since emoticons, and lots of people have said they'd love to see playable GIFs on Pinterest," The Pinterest blog states. "Starting today, we support GIFs in all their animated glory!"
