Social entertainment platform AppBank has signed up nearly 30,000 users in the six weeks since its launch. This will undoubtedly act as a beacon to advertisers looking for exposure in the social networking ecosystem and attract users that might be interested in monetizing their social experience.
Appbank pays users (through an advertising-share model) to create and share surveys. The company just announced some enhancements to its platform which should make the service a bit more appealing to users (and in turn advertisers) including advanced scoring for stronger user egnagement, the ability to upload images and videos for more interactive applications, the inclusion of application directories to make the discover of new apps easier, and new applicatin profiles to make comparing results easier. Appbank has also broadened its potential user base by moving beyond the US and canada alone as country restrictions have been removed.
"AppBank has made it easier and more fun than ever to make a bit of extra money in my spare time," said Alyssa Duwell, a junior at UW Milwaukee, who earned over $700 last month with AppBank. "And now, I'm excited about the chance to use the new advanced scoring functionality as well as the video clips and images to help me make even cooler applications to share on Facebook."
