Social networks, once considered a useless time waster, have morphed into valuable assets for companies and professionals with none accomplishing this better than LinkedIn.
To help improve their users' experience, LinkedIn has recently announced a robust change to their search function.
With the latest search update, users are endowed with a more comprehensive and accurate search feature that enables users to submit more complex queries. For example, before, when searching for a specific profile, users were only able to search for the first name and the first letter of the last name if they were not an immediate connection. Now, users can search for entire names no matter if the person they are looking for is already a connection or not.
Other improvements to LinkedIn's search functionality include more accurate keyword results as well as greater personalization in search results.
"This year, we have been hard at work reengineering search, tailoring it to your needs with the goal of making it easier for you to find what you want, when you want it - faster than ever before. How much faster? Let's put it this way, for each day that our members use the instant search experience we rolled out recently, we could save our members more than a year of cumulative time spent searching," states the LinkedIn blog post announcing the updated search features.
