The day is finally here - express yourself! Now, Facebook users can share their emotions (at least six of them) with Reactions.
For years, people have wanted the opportunity to share more than a simple like. Facebook listened to make it easier to express how something in News Feed makes social media users feel and now users have five new ways to express themselves.
To add a reaction, hold down the Like button on mobile or hover over the Like button on desktop to see the reaction image options, then tap either Like, Love, Haha, Wow, Sad or Angry.
According to Facebook, the social media power brand has been conducting global research including focus groups and surveys to determine what types of reactions people would want to use most. The company reviewed users' activity to see how people are already commenting on posts and the top stickers and emoticons as signals for the types of reactions people are already using to determine which reactions to offer.
Facebook plans to see how users react to different stories to provide more relevant stories in News Feed. For brands and page owners, insights will provide an overview of reactions on posts and available on Facebook ads.
Having multiple choices to pick a reaction, will this eliminate comments?
