Visual commerce platform Curalate is partnering with eBay Enterprise to help publishers drive both traffic and revenue from images sourced from Instagram.
The partnership gives more than 100,000 publishers in the eBay Enterprise Affiliate Network access to Curalate's Like2Buy feature, which allows them to use imagery to better engage their audiences, drive traffic to advertisers and create an entirely new commerce source.
"Our global partnership with eBay Enterprise is enabling publishers of all sizes to capture revenue from images," said Apu Gupta, CEO of Curalate. "We are excited to provide new avenues for publishers to connect content to commerce with a solution that is simple, easy to deploy at scale and delivers results. In fact, one publisher working with Like2Buy found that not only do 60 percent of visitors click through to a relevant piece of content, but those users are also more engaged and spend 37 percent more time on the site than the publisher's average mobile visitor."
With Curalate Like2Buy, publishers can drive consumers from pictures to purchases. This is because the solution uses the link in the profile description to direct consumers to shoppable Instagram image feeds. This functionality enables publishers to monetize the products within their pictures while also making it easier for consumers to discover and buy new products while browsing Instagram.
"There is a huge opportunity for publishers to remove barriers from the buying experience, especially for mobile. According to comScore, although nearly 60 percent of digital shopping time happens on mobile devices, only 15 percent of total ecommerce spending is driven by smartphones and tablets," said Michael Jones, head of affiliate, eBay Enterprise. "Through our integration with Curalate, we are delivering on our promise to help our publishers and advertisers expand their reach and spur more transactions via mobile and through multi-channel applications."
