Walmart, whose CEO recently predicted the retailer would exceed 10 billion in online sales by the end of this year at its annual shareholder meeting, has acquired predictive analytics startup Inkiru.
The acquisition shows, at least in part, at least one way that Walmart (and other Internet professionals) can achieve that level of sales in today's competitive ecommerce landscape. While @WalmartLabs will leverage Inkiru to further accelerate the retailer's big data capabilities for the purpose of site personalization, search, fraud prevention and marketing.
Inkiru is unique in that it combines real-time predictive intelligence, big data analytics and a customizable decision engine.
