Time tracking platform DeskTime released some interesting data showing that the average employee will spend 12 percent of the working day using unproductive applications such as Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube.
Only 59 percent of the day is spend using applications deemed productive.
Time tracking software could prove to be a useful addition to your enterprise. The DeskTime study showed that after a month of using a time tracking system, the productivity of an employee increases by 15 percent. In this case, those tracked had access to the data and could see which apps they use and the amount of time spend productively, unproductively and neutrally.
The statistics also show information on generic working habits, such as a high level of different applications used (including both desktop applications, as well as different web sites) - which indicates a tendency to be doing a lot of link-jumping at work.
