According to Usablenet, the inclusion of just a few HTML5-enabled interactive elements to a mobile website can significantly improve user engagement. The company's research found that features such as interactive galleries, overlays, and location services increase page views by 11 percent, decrease bounce rates by 15 percent and provide an approximately 28-percent increase in overall usage.
Usablenet also found that using a phone's built-in GPS feature to determine user location helps lower abandonment rates.
