Global data powerhouse Melissa Data introduced its BusinessCoder cloud service, which aims to solve the often immense data gap inherence among different datasets and vendors.
With or without a company name, data managers can simply provide an address, stock ticker, Web address, phone or Melissa Address Key (MAK) as input. BusinessCoder returns valuable information such as company names, phone numbers, geo-location and census info, SIC codes, number of employees, total estimated sales volume and more.
"Data managers struggle with gaps in business data, a common byproduct of working with different datasets and vendors as well as global business contacts," said Bud Walker, vice president enterprise sales and strategy, Melissa Data. "Multisourced data makes all the difference -- it is essential to optimize business-to-business communications, analytics, and marketing worldwide and sets us apart from traditional services such as Hoover's or Dun and Bradstreet. These other services, for example, typically exclude small business information from their data, while Melissa Data's coverage is more diverse and complete."
BusinessCoder's initial capabilities include U.S. business address data, and will be followed by data from Canada, the United Kingdom and other European countries.
