This marked a big year for Shopatron, as it was also the company's 10th anniversary. Also in 2011, Shopatron added 315 new brands to its roster, finally hitting 1000 brands in April.
Q4 of 2011 was especially promising for Shopatron clients. In the Home & Housewares division, brands saw 99 percent same-store sales growth compared to Q4 in 2010. Other industries that saw impressive Q4 growth last year were Running (with a 28 percent increase) and Gift & Novelty (which saw a 34 percent increase).
Shopatron also had a successful year abroad, launching international operations for over 50 brands from Europe and North America. Currently, Shopatron operates in 14 countries and supports four languages and seven different currencies.
"We may not be out of the economic doldrums yet, but opening up ecommerce and mobile sales channels has helped brands broaden their reach and increase sales during these challenging times," says Mark Grondin, Shopatron's SVP of Marketing.
He added, "It's never been more clear that brands now need to sell online using a retail-integrated strategy."
