Nearly 5,000 people have contributed to Ruby on Rails, but the opensource software may not have the same industry buy-in it once did.
Coding Dojo, a coding school with campuses in Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, Seattle, Silicon Valley, Tulsa and Washington D.C., has announced it will remove courses for Ruby on Rails from all of its campuses and online curriculum by the end of 2017, citing its research showing smaller job demand for those skills.
In the same announcement, Coding Dojo said it is adding a full-stack course in Java, which Coding Dojo analysis indicates was one of the two most in-demand programming languages in 10 major U.S. cities (
the other being Python).
