AOL acquired attribution modeling technology Convertro, which provides a platform for planning, activating and optimizing multi-channel ad spend, for approximately $101 million.
After reporting solid performance in the first quarter (revenue growth of 14%), global commerce platform Ebay announced the launch of new Spanish- and Portuguese-language version for users in South and Central America.
Google recently purchased analytic start Adometry (for an undisclosed sum). The attribution platform, which happens to compete with Convertro (see above) provides advertisers with a means to track customers on their path to purchase/conversion.
ShopKeepPOS, a cloud-based point of sale software for retail, announced an additional $25 million in Series C funding. The company now powers payments for over 10,000 small businesses.
Equity crowd funding platform OurCrowd raised $25 million in series B funding at the end of April, indicating the investment will be used to expand operations worldwide.
Several media conglomerates invested another $14.5 million in Wanderful Media (bringing its total funding to over $50 million), a company that brings advertising circulars with coupons from local retailers) to smartphones.
Cloud-based big data platform InsideSales.com has raised $100 million in funding (at a valuation of almost $1 billion). InsideSales.com, whose competitors include Velocify and Five9, provides a "sales" acceleration technology - a hybrid of marketing automation and CRM tools focused on enterprise-level sales.
