The search results pages are dynamic places. Dynamic in that they change and evolve - sometimes faster than digital marketers expect or are prepared for.
That's the case with Google's introduction and recent inclusion of an almost larger-than-life video format on the search results.
When Google users conduct a search that triggers video, Google is now showing a wide video embedded (exclusively from YouTube it seems) directly atop the search results. The same size format was available when users selected a video from the Knowledge Graph, but this is something entirely new.
The video can be played directed on the search results without having to click through to view it. Below see an example of how it appears for a search on one of my favorite performers and songs [cat power dreams].
