It's hard to deny the role that the Web plays in the success of enterprises today, but you may be completely shocked to learn that a significant percentage of the SMB landscape says the Web isn't all that important - particuarly in the realm of ecommerce.
According to the May 2015 SurePayRoll Small Business Scorecard, while 72 percent have a company website, only 26 percent are using it to sell products or services directly online.
As many as 2 in 5 said they don't really need additional help with their sites, because the Internet just doesn't play a significant role in their sales. Still, 20% wanted more help with website design and functionality, and 25% could use more content to enhance their sites. Only 12% were looking to include an ecommerce component.
