App Annie is venturing into the eBook industry, announcing two new tools for authors and publishers.

The popular mobile app analytics platform is now tracking eBooks. In doing so, publishers, authors and marketers can track their sales and downloads as well as monitor market trends through the App Annie platform.

"After many conversations with publishers and writers about how they tracked their eBooks, we learned it was a complicated patchwork of different processes and products," states an App Annie blog post. "That led us to realize we already had the perfect vehicle for simplifying things: our app tracking platform that's used by over 40,000 app developers today. We knew we could control this tempest of data. Better yet, we could make analysis accessible and intuitive for everyone, and put everything in one central place."

App Annie has launched two products for publishers and authors, including an analytics product that enables users to see all of their eBook information in one place, and a store stat product that provides users with access to market trends. Learn more about the products below:

Analytics

The eBooks analytics platform enables users to view performance data in a single dashboard, including graphs and charts for sales, bookstore rankings, downloads, customer reviews and ratings. In addition, App Annie provides email reports and downloadable Excel files. In order to use this product, publishers must connect their Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing or Apple iTunes Connect Books account to the App Annie platform.

Store Stats

The store stats product provides general market data for free, including information on rankings, ratings, featured sections and more. These insights can help publishers monitor trends across the industry. At launch, App Annie had already aggregated more than 1 million eBooks from Apple and Amazon's stores.
