Yelp is bolstering its platform through its new partnerships with Vimbly and several other startups, which are enabling the location-based platform to make activities from more than 5,000 local vendors instantly bookable.
With the partnerships, Yelp is making five new categories of businesses transactable on its platform. In fact, users will be able to do anything from rent a paddle board to book a parachute adventure. The company's partnership with GolfNow, for instance, will enable users to book a golf outing, while its partnership with BloomNation will enable users to order flowers from a local florist. Yelp has also partnered with Vagaro for booking spa and salon treatments, TableList for booking tables and VIP bottle service and LegalZoom for booking consultations with lawyers.
"Notice anything different when you woke up this morning? The bright warmth on your face? It's called sunshine! That song in the air? Birds! And what about those lovely clicking and tapping sounds all around you? That is the music of Yelpers everywhere, booking and ordering from local businesses directly on Yelp about 1.5 million times to date," Yelp states in its announcement. "We spent all Winter helping you survive the snowpocalypse by sending food delivery straight to your door and booking escapes to tropical getaways and Napa wine tours, and now it's time to ring in Spring with a fresh crop of partners that have made five new categories of businesses transactable on Yelp Platform!"
Yelp also notes that it has more updates "on the way." Plus, developers with a service that would be beneficial for the Yelp can check out yelp.com/developers to learn more.
