While it doesn't take exhaustive research to know that people are glued to their smartphones - just spend any amount of time in public - it is helpful for marketers to compare how consumers are using those devices versus desktop computers to interact with brand messaging and proceed to purchase (or not).
Along these lines, Movable Ink recently released the newest installment of its "U.S. Consumer Device Preference Report," and found uncharacteristically high email open rates on smartphone devices within the retail sector.
