Anyone who has ever shopped online knows that high shipping costs and few shipping and return options can be a deal-breaker.
While the 2015 Holiday Shopping Survey from Pitney Bowes shows that 94 percent of Americans plan to shop both in-stores (94 percent) and online (92 percent) this holiday season, their dollars won't come easy for retailers not catering to consumers' shipping preferences.
In fact, the survey shows that 93 percent of consumers find shipping options to be an important factor in their overall shopping experience (a 23 percent increase from 2014). The most enticing shipping option? According to the survey, 88 percent find free shipping with a 5-7 day delivery to be more attractive than paying a fee for a 1-2 day delivery.
