Codero Meets SAS 70 Type II Standards

Written by Peter Devereaux | Oct 18, 2010 5:00:00 AM

Codero successfully completed the Statement on Auditing Standards (SAS) No. 70 audit which is used in evaluating information security processes and control procedures. The certification process was created by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and allows infrastructure-as-a-service providers to remain transparent with customers in proving a secure system of internal controls is utilized.

SAS 70 Type II certification is an in-depth follow-up to Type I to verify and validate that a company is actually adhering to the procedures outlined in Type I and that they are operating effectively. Codero completed Type I certification for its data center and corporate-wide operations March 4, 2010 and followed up with the Type II certification which will now be conducted annually. The SAS Type II report may be used as a substitute for performing first-hand testing in conjunction with financial statement preparation or Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.

According to Shawn Hashmi, Director, Operations at Codero, "A SAS 70 audit offers proof of our security expertise. It allows us to disclose our control activities and processes to our customers in a uniform reporting format that is widely recognized internationally and gives our customers confidence that Codero has the safeguards in place to meet their needs for the highest type of security."
