Retailers are certainly keen on providing richer ecommerce experiences for consumers, but creating these interactive experiences often requires that websites become over-loaded with additional functionalities which affect load times.
This lag in performance, of course, results in high abandonment rates and lost revenue for online retailers. And that just don't do! Fortunately, there are plenty of solutions available to solve performance problems and they're quickly becoming available on some of the most popular ecommerce platforms.
Application delivery solution Instart Logic, for example, announced it has become a certified IBM Ready for Commerce partners, making it compatible with IBM WebSphere Commerce and IBM Commerce Cloud.
World of Watches, an ecommerce site for luxury watches, has already experienced success with using the Instart Logic and IBM joint solution, shortening its page-load times by 62 percent, going from 8 seconds to 3 seconds. As a result, the retailer saw a 12 percent increase in conversion rates.
When shoppers are presented with a poorly performing ecommerce experience, the online retailer's order conversion rates will likely suffer," said Adam Orentlicher, director, IBM Commerce. "This collaboration with Instart Logic helps online retailers proactively address performance concerns in the delivery of that experience, while leveraging their current IBM Commerce investments."
