Online consumers are still abandoning their shopping carts at rather disturbing rates and long and complicated checkout processes seem to be the primary reason.
Ecommerce solution Weebly, however, has announced it will now integrate Android Pay into the mobile checkout of its online stores, enabling shoppers to checkout in just a few seconds.
Announced at the annual Google I/O conference, the alliance will enable Weebly sellers to provider a faster checkout experience on mobile devices and tablets, where upwards of 40 percent of transactions occur for merchants.
"Online shoppers expect only the best experience when shopping, and patience dwindles when the checkout process is anything less than instant. Now with Android Pay, mobile shoppers on Weebly sites can seamlessly check out and pay in seconds," says Dan Veltri, co-founder and CPO of Weebly. "This integration is just another way we are leveling the playing field for our entrepreneurs, empowering their online stores with the latest technology to help them land more happy customers and, of course, more sales."
Qualified Weebly merchants (those connected to Stripe Gateway) and shoppers (those with Android Pay set up on their phone) will be able to use the Android Pay integration in the next few weeks.
