The role that social networks play in consumers' purchasing decisions is still a relative unknown for many merchants, but three technology innovators hope to change that by collaborating on a new solution that will help retailers launch an ecommerce platform with a direct to Facebook social integration.
Open-source ecommerce platform PrestaShop is now available through a custom stack on BitNami (which developed a free, one-click installer of Prestashop for popular cloud services including Amazon and Azure) that features/incldues a module for Beetailer, a solution that enables merchants to integrate (import really) their existing stores with Facebook.
"Social commerce is a fantastic channel for retailers to engage with their existing and potential customer base, enabling users to discover, share and ultimately purchase their products. Combining BitNami Cloud Hosting, PrestaShop and Beetailer provides merchants with the platform they need to leverage the most popular social network to drive sales to their online stores," said Laura Valverde, CEO of Beetailer.
