Wildly popular social commerce site Polyvore has influenced the Web in everything from site design to content creation.
India-based LimeRoad certainly falls in this digital boat, offering a site where users (similar to Polyvore) can create collages (mostly fashion) with products that complement each other. A pure marketplace model, LimeRoad is catering to today's modern shopper in myriad ways. For starters, users who download LimeRoad's mobile app - which provides a better user experience than its mobile site (similar to Pinterest) - get free shipping. According to this report, as much as 60 percent of LimeRoad's transactions come from mobile, with projections that number will reach 80 percent shortly.
Much of LimeRoad's popularity is organic, as 80-85 percent of its transactions are coming from organic search. Investors are certainly taking notice as well. It recently announced a $30 million Series C funding, led by Tiger Global Management.
