While social networks like Facebook and Instagram have nearly mastered user engagement, some are now looking to add to the their repertoire and enter the ecommerce space.
Shopify has announced it is expanding the beta test of enabling its merchants to sell products on Facebook via the social networks' "Buy" call-to-action button.
While a select few are already participating in the solution, new merchants will be able to display and sell their products on users' News Feeds and on Pages without making the user leave the ever-popular social network. Merchants that are invited to participate in the expanded beta test will see a message show up on the home screen in their Shopify account in the coming weeks.
Once users have added the new sales channel to their Shopify account they are able to immediately start posting products, promoting their posts via paid advertising as well as manage their customers and orders that come in via the social network.
