eBay's ecommerce platform Magento released several new UK-specific features for its SaaS (software-as-a-servive) version.
UK merchants now allows merchants to enable Royal Mail shipping (and provide customers with a unit price for items and VAT on an entire order), embeds a Cookie Restriction Mode (in which visitors are notified that the site requires cookies for full-featured operations in adherence with the new UK cookie law), includes the M2E extension (for selling on Ebay, along with syncing stock levels and importing eBay transactions and orders from the admin panel).
"We're continuing to see an uplift in merchants based in the UK who are facing unique tax laws and shipping regulations," said Roy Rubin, general manager of Magento and chief product and customer officer of X.commerce. "Magento Go is now equipped with additional market-relevant features to help our UK customers more effectively compete in the crowded online space. We're taking the pain out of selling goods and services online by ensuring our customers are armed with the some of the most flexible ecommerce tools available."
