A new diagnostics tab has been added to the Google Merchant Center, providing online retailers with consolidated issue reporting for accounts, feeds and items. Accurate product data will likely prove to be a key differentiator for merchants this holiday season, so the new feature comes at just the right time.
Google's new Diagnostics tab essentially provides online retailers with insight into the "health" of their product data, making it easier to prioritize issues (displaying errors, warnings and general notifications) and get products online more quickly.
The new tab also provides a historic overview of item eligibility status to spot and investigate changes that might have caused item disapprovals, a downloadable report (which contains affected items and the reasons why), as well as traffic and impact metrics to help online retailers identify items that are being impacted and by what specific issue.
