Discount Verification Sees Rapid Growth

Attractions like LEGOLAND California and the PGA Tour and e-commerce brands like Fathead and ProFlowers, offer discount prices for veterans, active duty military and their families. Of course, they are far from the only brands to do so, but what is different about their promotions is that they leverage SheerID to instantly verify a customers' military status in order to avoid fraudulent use, which allows brands like theirs to give deeper discounts, knowing that only customers who are eligible for the offer will be able to redeem it (see image below).

 

Many brands offer military discounts to not only thank their servicemen and women, as well as their families, for their sacrifices, but military families are also a unique consumer group. According to SheerID, compared to the national average, military families have 35 percent higher income, have three times more vacation, move twice as often to a new address and travel five times as often.

 

Similarly, SheerID has seen unprecedented growth in the last year with its military verification in particular, with a 440 percent-plus jump.

 

The company recently expanded its military coverage to include 14 million additional veterans, supporting many service members from Vietnam and World War II. As with most documents from that period, digital records are not readily available. Now, using SheerID, retail organizations can instantly verify most veterans. 

Since launching at the start of H2 2013, first responder verification (fire, police, etc.) has seen a 335 percent rise in verification, quarter over quarter. In addition, student verification has increased 163 percent since 2012.
