For many retailers, the holiday shopping season is already in full swing. But how is 2013 stacking up to 2012? Not so good, according to ShopVisible's Influence and Impact report, Dashing Thru The Data.
The ecommerce platform is presenting data from more than 70 commerce sites every week (released every Tuesday). Highlights from the week of October 27 to November 16, shown below, indicate a rather slow start to holiday 2013.
- Average order value down 10 percent to $123
- Average conversion rate down 2 percent to 3.1 percent
- Average weekly orders down 17 percent
