While a majority of consumers' online retail browsing is done on mobile devices, a much smaller percent of retail dollars are spent on these devices.
Mobile commerce may be the future of retail and shopping, but the technology to ensure an even "somewhat" decent experience has been elusive. Fortunately, that's changing.
PredictSpring, for example, just announced its new technology platform for brands to make the most of the opportunities in m-commerce by offering up a better gateway to that experience. The company's new Commerce Gateway and Mobile Platform is launching with brands like Cole Haan, Eddie Bauer, Bluefly and Woodcraft.
"For the past 15 years, brands and retailers have focused on ad formats to promote products, but these strategies were designed for desktop and have largely failed on mobile," said Nitin Mangtani, the Founder and CEO of PredictSpring, and one of the visionaries behind Google Shopping. "We have arrived at a time when every form of mobile content will be 'shoppable' - whether via a retailer's own app, social media platforms, or publisher apps."
