Embed Book Previews with Amazon

Embedding video and audio on websites is quite common, but books? Not so much but that's about to change.

Amazon announced a new featured this week, Kindle instant book previews, that will enable publishers to give their users the ability to browse book excerpts without leaving their website or application. The feature is essentially an extension of Kindle book samples offered at Amazon.

This could prove very useful for Amazon Associates - online publishers/affiliates who earn commissions for referring users who make purchases on the site. Amazon Associates simply include their Associate IDs in the embeds and will then receive credit for the referred sales.

The embeds are available via the embed link next to the share buttons on the individual Kindle book pages on Amazon.com. The feature is rolling out now, and the company says it will be available on the vast majority of Kindle books.
